The Association of Metallurgical Industries of the Argentine Republic (Adimra) announced that metallurgical production registered a rise of 24.9% in March, which added the seventh month of positive year-on-year variation. The business entity pointed out that production in the sector is currently at levels similar to those of 2019. The provinces that registered the highest increases in year-on-year terms were Córdoba (+35.3%), Santa Fe (+32.8%) and Entre Ríos (+19.7%). Buenos Aires Province, with a production increase of 25.3%, was unable to recover what was lost in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and remains below the 2019 levels. The sector that presented the greatest increase in production was foundry (+43.1%), Auto parts (+31.6%), Agricultural machinery (+29.1%), Capital goods (+16.9%), Electrical equipment and appliances (+16.4%) and Medical equipment (+11.5%).
