Argentina sent the first shipment of beef to the Philippines, a market of 100 million people that will receive in this first instance 27 tons of frozen cuts without bone.
The setting of this new destination took shape after the meeting between the Minister of Agroindustry of Argentina Ricardo Buryaile and the Secretary of Agriculture of the Philippines, Emmanuel Fantín Piñol.
It was the outcome of the efforts made by the Secretariat of Agroindustrial Markets and SENASA with the support of the Argentine ambassador to the Philippines, Roberto Bosch.
"This is the result of a joint effort of both government agencies and companies, because our health standards are reliable, we are demonstrating how much we can grow if we work to achieve the objectives," said Buryaile.
The first company to send a container was Arrebeef worth $ 96,000.
In addition, in May, two other national companies participated in business rounds with more than 20 potential Filipino clients.
"The Philippines is a market with a huge potential, in which we can increase exports with value added. We will continue to work with commercial missions and visits from importers to Argentina to reach our goal of being the world's supermarket, "said the minister.
