Trafigura, a Dutch metals and energy trading firm, said it planned to invest $350 million in Argentina and relaunch the Puma fuel brand.
Executives with Trafigura’s Argentine unit presented the investment plan during a meeting on Tuesday with Industry Minister Debora Giorgi.
The Dutch trading company plans to build a port and a logistics center with fuel and minerals storage capacity in Campana, a city in the Buenos Aires metro area.
The complex will be constructed on a 150-hectare (370-acre) site that has 670 meters (2,196 feet) of waterfront on the Parana de las Palmas River.
The project will create about 100 jobs, the Industry Ministry said in a statement.
Executives told Giorgi they planned to resume refining and marketing fuel under the pioneering Puma brand, which is owned by Trafigura.
The Dutch trading company has been operating in Argentina for two years and supplies fuel to Axion, Petrobras and Oil.
Trafigura also exports fuel to Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
