Argentine companies participated in a trade mission to China organized by the Foreign Ministry, within the framework of the export diversification and growth program PADEx. The mission, which took place from May 11-14 in the cities of Shenzhen and Shanghai, aimed to deepen the strategy of consolidating the presence of highly dynamic Argentine products in Asia.
The mission was comprised of 28 food and beverage companies seeking to enter the Asian market with their products. In the first leg, held in Shenzhen on May 11, delegation members visited Huawei headquarters and met with importers, distributors, retailers, end customers and local business representatives interested in their products.
Activities continued in Shanghai May 12-14, where the Argentine delegation held business rounds with Chinese counterparts, and visited a leading supermarket chain and a company operating in the free zone of Shanghai. As part of the official activities, representatives of the Argentine companies also visited SIAL, one of the most important trade shows in Asia for the food and beverage industry.
As part of SIAL, delegation members visited the stands of many Chinese companies previously identified by the Foreign Ministry as strong potential buyers of Argentine products. At both the Argentine pavilion and the institutional stand for Argentine beef promotion entity(IPCVA for its acronym in Spanish), business meetings were arranged between Argentine companies and Chinese counterparts with special interest in acquiring Argentine products in the food and beverages sector.
