Days after Martín Guzmán's announcement at a press conference, the government formalised with Decree 412/2021 [1] the decision to make partial payments to the Paris Club for US$430 million, in order to avoid default at the end of July. The decree contains a detailed list of Argentina's Paris Club creditors and the payment dates for this year and next year: one payment will be on 28 July 2021 and another on 28 February 2022. The interest rate to be paid by Argentina for the remainder of the liability with the countries that make up the Club will be 9%. The government also officially set a deadline for reaching an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for 31 March 2022.
