The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries announced that the limit of 30,000 tons per day of export will be replaced by a monitoring of the exportable balance to reach the harvest junction without tension, with the agreement of the private sector. This was achieved after a meeting of Minister Luis Basterra with the Argentine Agroindustrial Council (CAA).
They also agreed to reach a long-term agreement "with the corn consumer and supplier sectors, in tune with the Price Care program". There was also talk of "the constitution of a long-term trust as a structural solution and method of decoupling between the international market and that of supplying corn processors".
Representatives of the Mesa de Enlace announced that the three-day protest will end today, as originally planned. On the other hand, one effect of the conflict on corn was the sudden increase in export records for wheat, due to the sector's fear of state intervention in this market.
