As reported by the INDEC national statistics bureau, Argentina’s economic activity shrank 12.3% year-on-year in June 2020, but increased 7.4% compared to May 2020. With these figures, the Monthly Estimator of EconomicActivity (EMAE), which brings together several of the GDP’s components, accumulated a 12.9% decline during the first half of the year. In terms of specific sector contractions in June 2020 year-on-year: fishing -53.6%; construction -41.9%; mining & oil -15.5%; agriculture and livestock -9.6%; manufacturing industry -7.3%.
