US government financing agency, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), approved a loan of USD 300 million for the Latin-American company “Vista Oil Gas” to invest in the development of the shale oil from Vaca Muerta. OPIC - whose main function is to provide financial support to emerging market companies - also authorized another loan of USD 150 million for Aleph Midstream, considered one of the first existing firms of its kind in Argentina focused on the collection, treatment, evacuation and transportation of unconventional oil and gas.
