The Ministry of Production reduced import tariffs for more than 100 goods. These are products that are not manufactured in the country, but that is important in some production chains.
This benefit will reach the agricultural sector, by reducing tariffs on the import of harvesters and vibrating machines for the harvesting of olives, grapes, tomatoes, and nuts. According to the government, the other areas that will also benefit are the metallurgical, mining and construction industry.
The import tariffs will reduce 12% (from 14% to 2%) in 332 products. This government measure also includes the importation of capital goods used by the dairy industry, paper, ports, tourism in ski resorts and tanneries.
"The expansion of the list of capital goods to more than 300 tariff positions imply a reduction in the importation of merchandise that is not produced in Argentina," said Minister of Production and Labour, Dante Sica.
The State will stop receiving a minimum of US $ 15 million for this reduction and a maximum of US $ 45 million, according to official sources.
