The governor of Entre Ríos, Gustavo Bordet, signed yesterday an agreement with the Thai Government that will allow the entry of tangerines and oranges in that Southeast Asian country. Almost simultaneously with the progress achieved in the last hours by another sector, that of Argentine cherries, to enter this new market.
The agreement was reached in Bangkok, in the framework of a commercial tour, which also includes Vietnam, by the governors of Santa Fe, Miguel Lifschitz, and Córdoba, Juan Schiaretti. Governor Bordet received the good news from the Minister of Agriculture of Thailand, Grisada Boonrach, who confirmed that - after inspection of a technical team - that country will enable imports of tangerines and oranges from Entre Ríos in a market of almost 70 million inhabitants that represents 20 percent of Southeast Asian trade.
"It's great news for our province, it strengthens and strengthens our export policy," the governor said.
